Shadow Mountain Quilters, a quilt guild located in Pahrump, NV celebrated its 29th anniversary in 2023. Starting with fewer than 10 quilters at the home of one of our members, the guild today has 125+ members who quilt, crochet, knit, tat, embroider, weave, etc.
We meet at the Bob Ruud Community Center, located at the corner of Highway 160 and Basin Avenue, on Tuesdays from 9am to 3pm for sewing days. Some members bring sewing machines to work on projects and others do handwork. On these days, our Hospitality Committee sets up coffee and snacks. Show and tell is always fun and inspiring.
We have a business meeting every other month, on the 2nd Tuesday of every ODD month. Meeting begins promptly at 9:30am. Members are welcome to stay and sew after the meeting, as on any regular meeting day.
The Programs Committee organizes well-attended classes, where members can learn new sewing techniques for quilt making, make tote bags and miscellaneous household items such as rugs and bowls, etc.
Guild members enjoy retreats several times a year in nearby Amargosa, NV at the Longstreet Inn & Casino. These 4-day retreats are eagerly anticipated and a lot of fun.
Our guild members are committed to helping their community through donations of quilts and numerous hand crafted items to several local charities throughout the year.
